Otospondylomegaepiphyseal dysplasia
Otospondylomegaepiphyseal dysplasia (OSMED) is a rare genetic disease characterized by abnormal bone growth. As a result, heaviness, skeletal abnormalities, and characteristic facial features are caused.
The name indicates the corresponding parts of the body that are affected. These are the ears (oto-), the bones of the spinal column (spondylo-) and the ends of the long bones (epiphyses) of the arms and legs.
