DOOR syndrome

DOOR syndrome describes the combination of deafness, bone deformities, nail dystrophy and mental retardation. Some patients additionally suffer from epilepsy.

Characteristic symptoms include a particularly large nose, polyhydramnios, analgesia, peripheral neuropathy and visual impairment.

An autosomal recessive inheritance of the syndrome is suspected. The genetic cause is unknown.
