Cutis marmorata teleangiectatica congenita
Cutis marmorata teleangiectatica congenita (CMTC) is a vascular anomaly that leads to various dermatological symptoms.
These include purple or bleached marbled skin, phlebectasia and spider vein telangiectasia. The disease usually already manifests at birth or occurs shortly thereafter. Both sexes are equally affected.
In addition to the symptoms that appear on the skin, most patients suffer from further changes. These include vascular lesions, psychomotor retardation, hypotonia, glaucoma and macrocephaly.
One cause of the CMTC has not yet been determined. Most cases occur sporadically.
