BOD syndrome
BOD syndrome is the combination of brachymorphism, onychodysplasia, and dysphagia. The disease has only been diagnosed in ten unrelated patients.
They suffered from dwarfism, mild intellectual limitations, shortened mid-phalanges, hypoplastic little fingers and tiny fingernails. Conspicuous were also facial dysmorphia, which included a broad nose, large mouth, a pointed chin and flat cheeks.
Most of the patients were microcephaly, but the intelligence was only slightly limited.
Cystic lung adenomas have been reported in some affected children.
The syndrome may be an attenuated form of the coffin-siris syndrome. On the other hand, however, speaks the only mild expression of mental retardation.
