Tufted angioma
Tufted angioma is a vascular tumor. This may be either innate or acquired before the age of 5 years.
The appearance of the angioma is an unclearly delineated red plaque, which in some cases may contain scattered deep red papules, covered by a slight fuzz or surrounded by a halo. The appearance of the lesions changes over time, with a sensation of touch being significant. Injuries even trigger pain.
The clinical course is often chronic. In some cases, the infiltrative spread has been reported in the lower extremities, whose sclerotic shell can cause significant muscle and joint function restriction.
