Laryngeal abductor paralysis is a paralysis of the laryngeal musculature, which affects the position and flexibility of the vocal cords.

Cause are usually tumors in the neck area, operations on the thyroid and injuries to the neck and collarbone fractures. Genetic causes can also play a role.
