Kimura's disease

Kimura's disease is characterized by solitary or multiple subcutaneous nodules, especially in the neck area. As accompanying symptoms lymph node swelling and hypertrophy of the salivary glands can occur.

The disease occurs endemic in Asia. Only a few cases have been described in western countries.

The multiple subcutaneous nodules consist of hyperplastic lymphoid tissue, proliferating postcapillary venules and an inflammatory infiltrate with many eosinophils.
