Isolated ectopia lentis
Isolated ectopia lentis is a clinically very variable eye disorder characterized by lens dislocation. So far 90 cases have been described.
The loss of zonula fibers triggers the dilocation of the lens and the resulting consequences. This is cauased by mutations in the ADAMTSL4 or FBN1 gene. The causality has yet not been confirmed.
The disease can manifest itself at any age. The further expression is very variable within a family and can also vary between the two eyes on one patient. For example, the displacement of the pupil, lens coloboma, various refractive errors, retinal detachment, and glaucoma are possible. The patient's visual acuity is also very different.
