Invasive aspergillosis
Invasive aspergillosis is an often fatal lung infection caused by fungal infestation. The inhaled Asperagillus fungus infects the lungs and spreads throughout the body, for example, in the heart, kidneys and brain. A consequent symptom is coughing with ejection.
Invasive aspergillosis mainly affects immunocompromised patients, for example patients with AIDS, patients after organ transplantation or patients with chemotherapy.
