Hyperlipoproteinemia type 1
Hyperlipoproteinemia type 1 refers to a defect of the posthepatic lipoprotein lipase and a strongly delayed degradation of the chylomicrons. This leads to a pathological deposition of lipids in the liver, spleen, and in the skin (xanthomas).
