Hereditary zinc deficiency syndrome

A hereditary zinc deficiency syndrome is a congenital metabolic disorder with disruption of zinc intake. Inheritance is autosomal recessive. The cause is an inhibition of zinc uptake from the intestine.

The symptoms start within a few months after birth.
