During December 2018, the International Health Regulations National Focal Point of Saudi Arabia has reported five more cases of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus.

- The WHO recommends member states to continue surveillance of respiratory infections.
- The WHO does not consider it necessary to apply special point of entry screenings, or trade and travel restrictions.
