Global Outbreak Update: MERS-CoV outbreak in Saudi Arabia

During December 2018, the International Health Regulations National Focal Point of Saudi Arabia has reported five more cases of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus.

• Status: January 16th, 2019
• Regions: Riyadh and Najran.
• During December 2018, the International Health Regulations National Focal Point of Saudi Arabia has reported five more cases of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus.
• The WHO recommends member states to continue surveillance of respiratory infections.
• The WHO does not consider it necessary to apply special point of entry screenings, or trade and travel restrictions.
